I had heard about the gatherings at this busy corner in Citrus Heights, just a few miles from our home. All four corners of the intersection were filled with people holding signs and banners, both “Yes” and “No” on Prop 8. When the light changed, they would take turns crossing the street and go to a new corner. Our corner had a lot of the “Yes” on Prop 8’s, and seemed to have a lot of folks from Russia…or from somewhere near that part of the world.
Annelise reporting to her friends about the rally
Two people with different views having a peaceful discussion
Later, a man becomes angry when a “No” demonstrator explains her position to him
A LOT of cars going by honking, waving and cheering. Pretty exciting to watch!

This corner was definitely heavy on the “Yes” side. Overall, there were a lot more “Yes” signs on each corner, and the “Yes” side appeared to be more organized and be in large groups. There weren’t as many “No” people, and there seemed to be more individuals or small groups of 2 or 3. Well, that’s my unbiased report on the 30 mins or so I was there, pretending to be a news photographer with my trusty Blackberry cell phone/camera… ;- )
